YHA Sydney Central

Chroma Group successfully delivered the refurbishment of Sydney Central YHA, Australia’s largest YHA property, modernising a nine-storey heritage-listed accommodation building while maintaining its active hostel operations.

The scope included upgrades to guest accommodation and common areas including the cinema room, swimming pool area, and co-working spaces, creating a more contemporary, social, and flexible guest environment while respecting the building’s heritage character.

Working within a limited programme, Chroma Group implemented a carefully phased delivery strategy to minimise disruption and allow hostel services to continue throughout the renovation.
