Smith Street Bistrot

Chroma Group was engaged to undertake the refurbishment of Smith Street Bistrot in the heart of Collingwood, transforming the venue into a richly detailed hospitality environment inspired by 1920s Parisian design.

The project included the construction of a new mezzanine level and feature staircase connecting the ground floor, mezzanine, and first-floor private dining room, requiring careful coordination of structure, access, and detailed finishes within a compact inner-city venue.

Custom hand-painted walls, decorative wallpapers, wrought iron balustrading, and a seven-metre custom antiqued mirror contributed to the venue’s layered, European character, while bespoke stone tabletops and banquette seating created intimate and opulent dining settings.
